Good news – as of Monday 11th May we are back down to level 1 Dental treatment restrictions. Which means that we are treating all patients who do not have clinical risk factors of COVID-19 or have been in association with infected people.

What does this mean to our patients? We will continue to treat you with the established high standard of cleanliness and infection control procedures that you would expect from our surgery. In addition we will ask that if you do have any of the following symptoms you defer your appointment to a later date:

Fever (greater than or equal to 38 degrees Centigrade), night sweats, chills, acute respiratory infection, recent loss of smell, recent loss of taste, muscle pain, joint pain, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or loss of appetite – these are all symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection.

We will question you on these symptoms and ask that you use an alcohol based hand rub on entering the building. In addition in the surgery before treatment we will ask that you have a 30 second rinse with 1% Hydrogen peroxide solution to reduce numbers of virus and bacteria in your mouth. This means that the risk of bacteria or viral contamination of the operatory is greatly reduced. We will also take your temperature. Common waiting areas are regularly cleaned so you can feel comfortable that we will continue to look after your wellbeing.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask as we are here to help you. Keep well and remember to keep those hands clean, don’t touch your face in without sanitising your hands and keep good social distancing.
