Bronwyn Jest
B Phty Post Grad Cert Phty (Pelvic Floor Phty)
Bronwyn Jest is a Chermside physiotherapist with a special interest in Pelvic Health: Continence and Rehabilitation of the Pelvic Floor.
She graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and subsequently practised in Goulburn, Sydney and Brisbane. This period of time saw her work and gain experience in all facets of physiotherapy eventually choosing to practise in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation.
Bronwyn followed in the footsteps of so many Australians and lived and worked overseas for some years. This took her to Canada and London and included the ‘Grand Tour’ of Europe!
Returning home to Brisbane, married and with her first baby on the way, Bronwyn took her ‘First Retirement’ to stay at home and be with her three children.
Bronwyn returned to physiotherapy practice and fulfilled a long held desire to help women with continence problems. She completed postgraduate study at the University of Melbourne receiving a Postgraduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy).
Bronwyn is committed to continual learning and undertakes regular professional development to remain up to date with the current evidence. In 2019, she is excited to commence study for the Professional Certificate in Conservative Management of Pelvic Organ Prolapse at the University of South Australia in Adelaide.
Bronwyn has a positive approach to pelvic health concerns and is passionate about getting the message out that continence and pelvic heath issues can be treated effectively and people should not have to suffer in silence.
Bronwyn works in her own private practice at Chermside in Brisbane’s northern suburbs.
When not working, she enjoys exercising, reading, music, admiring (and collecting) antique pottery, film, swimming at the beach, bush-walking and spending time with her husband Martin and three adult offspring Sophie, Alistair and Isabel.
Bronwyn is also available to speak about pelvic health at seminars and to community groups. Over the years she has presented to mother’s groups, medical centres, church groups, gyms and fitness groups and a men’s shed! She has also presented for the Continence Foundation of Australia and lectured frequently for Ausmed Education, a leading provider of Continuing Professional Development for nursing professionals.
